As I was eating the sandwich, I realized that I was essentially eating two slices of cream cheese toast that had been put together as a sandwich. Hmmm. It was good, but that thought was a little disenchanting. I think I'm going to make some pear bread so I can try it in a more creative way!
MY Blog
You might be wondering WHY I've started yet another blog. I decided to cook my way through a cookbook and I wanted to document. I want to take pictures, have a place to cry about my mishaps, rejoice over triumphs, and have a place that's JUST FOR ME. I've always done blogs for other people/purposes. This one is for me and exactly as the title says.
Just so you can understand my "rules", if you decide to follow along in this or another cookbook:
-I do NOT have a timeline
-I want to document every recipe
-I will not substitute, unless I absolutely CANNOT find an ingredient
-I will try EVERY recipe, however, there are many variations I'm not going to make every single variation unless I feel like it.
-I'm going to try to use this endeavor to get my family interested in more foods, however, if they will not eat something, I'll have it for a special lunch.
One last thing: I actually was inspired by Kevin Malone on the Office (heavy, balding guy) to cook my way through a cookbook. Not Julie and Julia. I didn't read the book, see the movie, or have a desire to. There are my true colors.

Grilled Cream Cheese Sandwiches
My camera was MIA when I made the Grilled Cream Cheese Sandwich yesterday. I was sad, because it actually looked kind of pretty. All you do is spread cream cheese on two pieces of "serious, nutty, multigrain bread" (nice wording, huh? I love the way Madison writes her recipes), then the sandwich on a buttered skillet. She says you can also do this with fruit bread for brunch.

I'm not a huge fan of cream cheese unless it's mixed with something. However, I have never tried it grilled. Sometimes a girl needs to add some adventure to her life, ya know?
